Bream Bay police seized 58 firearms, right, after a Maungaturoto man allegedly threatened a neighbour. Police were called to a Maungaturoto property on Thursday amid reports that a firearm licence-holder had been in a dispute with his neighbour. The man was arrested and officers seized 58 firearms, most of them allegedly unsecured. Police said a firearms holder needed to be a fit and proper person to hold a licence and have guns. "If you go about threatening people we will seize your licence and firearms and go through the process of revoking your licence," an officer told the Advocate.
