What was it like playing for at Toll Stadium for the first time in a Taniwha jersey?
Yeah it was pretty good actually. Pretty cool ground, it's pretty close and purpose built for rugby. Good crowd and good support, it was good fun.
It must be pretty cool, I mean it is a hell of a welcome really, 20 minutes into it to get an intercept try and hear the crowd go up like it did, is that a cool feeling? Does that feeling ever get old?
Yeah I just went for the ball and thought it was probably me under the posts or them under the posts at the other end. I was just running as fast as I could and try not get caught. Get off the nudey pretty early in the season is pretty good.
A lot of people have been saying good things about you, from your game last week to this week people are keen to know if you're keen to stick around for Super Rugby?
I definitely want to play Super Rugby again, I had a taste of it last season, and it's something I want to get back into and is part of the reason for coming back and playing ITM Cup. Obviously Northland is my first focus now but Super Rugby is an option. I know they've got Baden Kerr there and if they decide to play Benji at first-five.
Are you enjoying the north?
Yeah I am, it's a nice place and pretty relaxed which I don't mind. When we get some good weather it's good.
Is there still an excited buzz among the players with it being still close to the start of the season?
Yeah we've had a couple of pretty tough games, obviously the one on the weekend was pretty ugly but as you said before a win is a win and we have to back it up this weekend against North Harbour.
