An international expert is giving a talk in Kerikeri this month about coping with climate change.
Scientist Gavin Kenny will lead the "climate resilience" presentation at the Turner Centre from 10am to 1pm on November 13, starting with an international overview, and exploring the possible local effects. This will be followed by workshop sessions to explore local changes and action that might be useful.
Dr Kenny specialises in climate effects, vulnerability and adaptation and has worked in 17 countries. His present focus is bridging responses between primary producers, scientists and policy makers.
He is sponsored by the Ministry for Primary Industries and Zespri, and is a guest of the Vision Kerikeri and Transition Towns community groups. Entry by gold coin donation.
