Whether they sometimes seem like double trouble or double delight, there's no doubting twins and bigger bunches of womb mates are extra special.
The Whangarei Multiple Birth Club on Saturday held a twin celebration with a party for the club's fifth anniversary and to mark New Zealand's Multi-Birth Awareness Week from October 3.
One of the club's founders, Nikki Diamond, said about 12 families took part, all with twins.
About four or five parents had started the club five years ago to help, support and share resources with families with other multiple-birth children, Ms Diamond said.
The Whangarei club's play group gets together every second and fourth Friday each month.
