Business person, motivator and change agent Tania McInnes has set up Breakthrough Seminars, aimed at people wanting to get the most out of themselves and businesses wanting to provide staff with focus and creativity.
"It is deeply important to me that we put more effort into supporting our people to shine - everyone benefits from this.
"I believe we live in a time where many of us hold very negative ingrained beliefs and this has moved us away from recognising just how amazing we really are," she said.
Many believe that 80 per cent of people in the workforce don't really enjoy what they do, she added.
"Even if it was half this, that is a staggering thought. Imagine the increase in productivity if we had the majority of our workforce focused and feeling valued."
She believes there is a gap in the Northland market for a business like hers.
Initially she will offer three seminars: Approach; Breakthrough! and Clarity. One-to-one coaching is also available.
Ms McInnes is offering free seminars The ABC to getting ahead throughout the North in June.
The seminars start on June 17 at Kingston House, Kerikeri, 10.30am-noon; June 18, May Bain Room, Whangarei Library, 11am-12.30pm; June 18, Dargaville (venue tbc), 3-4.30pm; June 19, Opononi RSA Hall in the Hokianga, 10-11.30am and June 20, Te Ahu, Kaitaia, 3-4.30pm.
Ms McInnes has a background in personal and community development, career coaching and mentoring.
She was one of the key instigators of Focus Paihia, which contribute to the town being named Community of the Year 2015.
