The awards for Northland motels kept checking in at the recent Motel Association of New Zealand (MANZ) conference earlier this month.
Paihia's Suzi Jones, who runs the Outrigger Motel with husband Greg, was honoured as a life member of the association for her work with the Bay of Islands Northland branch of the association.
Organisers said Ms Jones had been a great supporter of the association, as well as tourism in Northland and local community organisations.
No stranger to awards, she also took the "Personality of the Conference" award in 2004 and the pair was named Operators of the Year 2010 for the Host Accommodation Group for their commitment to customer service.
Customer service was also the theme when awarding Vivienne and Mark Javins of the Pioneer Waterfront Apartments in Paihia, who were named as joint runners-up in the national AA Traveller Supreme Host of the Year Award this year.
Scoring in sports came as easy to the Northlanders at the conference as scoring in business, as two MANZ golf cups return to the Northland region.
Paihia's Admiral's View Lodge hosts Craig and Penny Boles took the men's gross and woman's Stableford sections respectively. Craig played to par on the Taupo-Tauhara course.
