Each Thursday, Herald on Sunday rugby editor Gregor Paul ranks the Super 15 teams.

This week sees the defending champion Chiefs hold top spot after a strong performance against the Highlanders on Friday.

Three New Zealand teams make up the top five spots.

I thought Billy Connolly was the Brumbies coach? Couldn't agree more wrt Dad's Army & Freddy Michalak. He was a network endorsement anyway - commentators always praised him despite the fact he only kicked, passed immediately and shied out of tackles. Something has to be done wrt SA's scheduling - it is an annual problem. There is always 1 (sometimes 2) team that has a heavily- weighted schedule consisting of road games in the beginning. By the time they return, they have no hope of post-season, fans are unaware they are even playing and aren't about to start buying tickets with elation. All those tickets sales lost - in this day and age, some CEO should point that out!

Early days yet but 3 NZ teams, the best SA team and the best Aust team to make up the top five sounds a reasonable bet...

Er, The Crusaders haven't played yet are ranked third. Just shows what a joke these rankings are.
