Total fire ban for Wanganui District

A total fire ban has been announced for the Wanganui District.

It will take effect from midnight tomorrow and applies to all urban and rural areas in the Wanganui District.

It also cancels any existing fire permits that have been issued.

The only exception to the total fire ban is gas-fired barbeques.
