If I could get my hands on these people stealing caravans, I wouldn't be able to control myself.

I'd launch at them and savage them with ... hugs.

Yes sir, I'd kiss the living daylights out of them. They are doing what I've wanted to do for years.

I've often dreamed of forming a secret gang of vigilante motorists, clearing the roads of caravans and restoring peace and order to New Zealand highways.

The "Great Caravan Cull" is something I'd gladly get behind.

We all know you don't want to get behind an actual caravan on the road; holding us to ransom; dribbling along at 12km/h; swerving their big bottoms left to right; blocking the view.

I can't tell you how many summer road trips have ended with me sick and sweaty - spitting insults at the selfish road lump in front of us.

So whoever you are out there, stealing caravans: stand strong, be proud, and know you are doing right in the world.

Funny that, caravan owners pay their registration just like you, more actually, as they pay to register the caravan as well, so I suppose it could be argued they have more right to the road than you. There is a speed limit when towing, 90k, that means everyone who is towing anything, be it a caravan, a boat or a trailer load of rubbish, a truck and trailer.

Get over yourself, get some patience and understand that your speed won't always get you there that much quicker. I assume you encounter caravans at busy holiday times so even if you get past them you are going to be held up again a bit while on in the traffice. Caravan owners will pull over when it is safe to do so.

Caravan owners are also very aware of fuel consumption when towing and drive accordingly, you should try it, you might be surprised how much you can lower your fuel bill.

Damn straight. I was stuck behind two campervans heading from Taihape to Taupo the other week. They were doing 40-50kmh in a 100kmh zone with no passing lanes and no hope of over-taking due to bends in the road and onconing traffic. And they had numerous opportunities to pull over, but didn't.

Just take a deep breath and relax...no point in getting all worked up....you'd be amazed at how easy it is to go with the flow instead of angsting over the fact that they are holding you up....why do you need to get past them....just slow down and enjoy the trip...you'll have more time to take in the scenery...listen to a talking book on CD....chat with your passenger...or just the content for your next blog :-)
