Tractor-trailer tips, blocks SH1

The south-bound lane of State Highway 1 is blocked near the Manawatu town of Sanson after a tractor and trailer unit tipped.

Emergency services were called to accident, about 1km south of Sanson, at 5.27am.

Police said the driver of the tractor is not thought to have suffered any serious injuries.

The south-bound lane will be blocked while a crane is brought in to lift the tractor and trailer off the road, and motorists are advised to expect delays.
