Truck spills human effluent on road

Police are warning motorists to stay away from a Tahuna street after a truck spilled a large amount of human waste onto the road.

A truck carrying "human effluent" has had a large spillage on Tahuna Rd, between Mangawhara and Tainui Rds, police said.

Police and local authorities are both on the scene, where Tahuna Rd has been closed off.

It is expected to reopen in less than an hour.
