Should there be a SBW/Botha rematch?

1:53 PM Monday Feb 11, 2013

Cries of match-fixing have cast a shadow over Sonny Bill Williams' title fight against the White Buffalo.

Doubt has been cast over the validity of Williams' victory, and on the international World Boxing Association title he won, because the sanctioning body, the WBA, may not have been contacted to approve the bout.

A clearly groggy Williams hung on to win though an angry Botha claimed he would have knocked Williams out had there been two more rounds - an estimation most fight fans would agree with, given Williams' unsteady hold on the vertical at the end of the fight.

The sophistry and catcalling surrounding this bout sums up boxing today. And now allegations of drug use. Its not a sport. Its a sideshow. What purpose would a rematch serve except to line the bulging pockets of the few who profit from such farce?

Not at all. The first was a farce why bother with another. NRL grand final isn't until 6th october so no chance of it before then anyways.

By the time SBW gets back to boxing Botha will probably be, or definitely should be, retired.
