Children injured in motocross crashes

Two children at a motocross event near Rotorua today had to be airlifted to hospital, after becoming involved in two separate crashes.

At around 2.00pm, a BayTrust rescue helicopter rescued a six-year-old boy, who had abdominal injuries from one crash.

He was airlifted to Tauranga Hospital in a comfortable condition.

Shortly after, an 11-year-old girl was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital with a suspected broken arm from a crash.
