Coastguard training in Wellington tonight

Wellington residents are being told not to worry if they see flashes in the sky tonight.

The Coastguard is holding a training exercise on the south coast, south of Island Bay, at 9.00pm this evening.

The 40 minute exercise involves letting off 100 marine distress flares.
