Serious stabbing in Napier

A young Napier man has undergone surgery after a serious stabbing this morning.

Napier police attended a stabbing at an address in Morris Spence Ave earlier this morning where the man suffered numerous puncture wounds.

He is believed to be in a stable condition at Hawkes Bay Hospital after undergoing surgery.

A 24-year-old Napier man has been arrested and charged with wounding and aggravated burglary.

He appeared in the Napier District Court and has been remanded in custody until Wednesday.
