Sprinklers extinguish Koru lounge fire

Sprinklers were able to extinguish a small fire in the Koru lounge at Wellington airport today.

Central fire communications shift manager Mike Wanoa said the fire started in the lounge's ceiling just before 5am.

Nobody was in the room at the time, he said.

Koru lounge members would have to wait for an electrician to isolate the electricity before being allowed back into the room, Mr Wanoa said.
