Woman airlifted after crash

A 76-year-old Blenheim woman has been airlifted to hospital with potential spinal and head injuries following a crash near Nelson.

A group of four people was returning to Marlborough from the Nelson A & P show when the car they were in hit a bank on the Rai Saddle about 3.45pm.

A 76-year-old passenger was treated for suspected spinal and head injuries and flown to Wairau Hospital, a Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter spokesman said.

The other three occupants of the car were not injured.
