16-year-old critical after Wanganui assault

A 16-year-old youth is in a critical condition in hospital after an altercation among three people in Wanganui on Wednesday night.

The youth suffered head injuries in the altercation on the corner of Keith and Glasgow Sts at 7pm and was initially taken Wanganui Hospital before being transferred to Wellington.

A 21-year-old has been charged with assault. Police had yet to speak to a third person.
