Man charged over death of hunter

A man has been charged in relation to the death of Rotorua man James Wilson Dodds in a hunting incident last month.

Police said a 36-year-old would appear in Rotorua District Court on October 18 charged with careless use of a firearm causing death.

Mr Dodds 30, was shot dead during a hunting expedition in Waikite Valley, south of Rotorua, on September 7.
