Valerie Adams' fellow Kiwi Olympians have congratulated her on her belated gold medal win - and many are calling for a medal ceremony in New Zealand to make up for the lack of an Olympic podium celebration.

Olympic shot put silver medallist Adams has been promoted to gold, after rival Nadzeya Ostapchuk tested positive for the banned anabolic agent metenolone and was stripped of the gold medal.

While Adams said she was "absolutely thrilled" to have won back-to-back Olympic gold medals, she admitted she felt robbed that the people she cared about didn't get to see her on the top of the podium with the New Zealand anthem playing.

Yes she should she has been robbed of this and deserves a ceremony definitely. NZ should do this for her, this is what she is wanting.

The only and best place where Val will get the accolades she deserves and the cheers of a large crowd of Kiwis [and aussies,HO HO] is at the Bledisloe Rugby Cup, Eden Park where the majority of fans will be Aucklanders, and the Mayor is out of town raising sponsors for his Hornby train set.
