Prime TV was criticised for its edited 'live' coverage of the Olympic Games opening ceremony, however owners Sky TV claim viewers 'would not miss important events.'
"I can't imagine a situation where [viewers] will lose gold medal coverage," says Sky TV chief executive John Fellet.
Fellet did not have details on how many or when ad breaks would be, but said it would be similar to TVNZ's coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He says there shouldn't be any delay in most of Prime's coverage, which will air 23 hours a day.
How do you rate TV Olympics coverage so far? Here is the latest selection of Your Views:
Two complaints. One is the Kiwi woman who commentates on the road cycling, using the phrase (more than once), "my bad". You're not an American teenager, nor do you live in South Central Los Angeles. It's not your "bad", it's your mistake. You're a professional broadcaster. You don't need to speak Queen's English, but no ghetto slang, please.
Two is the Kiwi-centric approach. Yes, I know we're in New Zealand, but I was to see the best in the world, not just the 16th-best just because they're a Kiwi. And I certainly don't need to see races replayed 3-4 times when a Kiwi does well (especially when it's just a heat).
I cringe in anticipation of our first gold medal and expect to see the medal ceremony replayed about 12 times.
