All Black Zac Guildford is "hurting and ashamed" and can't remember his drunken night in Rarotonga - and his family say his drinking problems stem from the early death of his father.

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder spoke to Guildford yesterday and said the 22-year-old World Cup squad member was "devastated" and at rock bottom over his actions at Trader Jacks bar on Friday night (NZT).

"He's really hurting and ashamed," Blackadder said.

For God's sake stop giving these pathetic 'sporting heros' third, fourth and fifth chances. Bite the bullet and get someone on board who can control himself.

It's a shame that sporting personalities are always in the spotlight and seem to have little time away from the public eye - but this is the life they sign up to. Personally, I feel this has embarrassed some All Blacks fans but at least Guildford waited until after the RWC unlike the English team, I'm English and am fed up with our Rugby and Football teams acting like spoilt brats during major competitions.

There is no way in hell that this wannabe should represent our country !
By all means, get him help for his addiction, and then let him help himself.
