The fairytale which unfolded for New Zealand in the quarter-finals against South Africa never looked like repeating in the first 33 overs of Sri Lanka's chase last night.

The hosts were set to take a decisive and deserved place in the final. Then the Black Caps struck and almost broke the jinx of six consecutive semi-final losses in 10 World Cups.

How do you rate the Black Caps' performance at the World Cup? Here is the latest selection of Your Views:

After 23 years supporting the black caps, I gave up on them after the series whitewash in Bangladesh and India. For the record I have not forgiven them.

I can't for the life of me understand why after so many defeats, they stick with the same captain & most of the team, probably the same coach & the selectors must be on crack.

Get rid of the lot & start again.

Maybe John Wright and Alan Donald have some answers to performance - note the increased speed from the bowlers of late. There does seem to be a bit of "mongrel" creeping into their performance. Lets see what happens in the next few months
