Kyle Brandon Jack-Midgley, 27, was in the CTV building when it collapsed during the earthquake.

His brother returned from Brisbane the day after the quake to help search for him.

Kyle's brother, Ryan Jack-Midgley, posted on his Facebook page during the week of the earthquake: "Kyle, I'm coming to find you and I expect you to be the first one to tell me off for crying when I do ... wish me luck people."

But on February 25, hope was mingled with frustration when Ryan posted: "Without at all eliminating hope, today was a bad day. We were told that there is still a chance survivors could be found in the CTV building and as we know, if anyone was gonna be that survivor he'd be my brother."

May the Lord comfort the hearts of family and friends of Kyle-Midgley at this time of grief. I didn't know him but felt to write some words of peace and comfort. Peace be with you all.

I meet you and Olivia only once. We all danced and drank the night away. I have always remembered the two of you and how friendly, smiley and happy you both were. My thoughts go out to your family, friends and to Olivia.
