As best film? No. It will pick up Ocars for special effects and the like however.

Of course Avatar deserves to win, hands down, no contest. The 3D experience is ground breaking, mesmerising, and amazing. I really visited another planet. Awesome!

But since the Oscars are used to make political statements, it is a fair bet that one of the other forgettable picks will make it. And it is hard to see actors voting for a movie where the digital effects did them out of a job.

Sure Avatar is the best in current box office per stats. My daughter dragged me along to watch as she normally does for 'teen-you know' reasons even if I fall asleep. I must say, the sound really kept me awake, very loud!

Story lines was the best as producer did a great job in adding the plug on indigenous & deforestation. The lighting effect was the real highlight. It just made the movie so magical when those war-looking mongers were not destroying the planet earth.

Well done Avatar & those that created it.
