I couldn't think of any NZ sports stars that actually get me interested , excited or are performing at a high level. Irene van Dyke ! You are having a laugh! Out of all the sportsmen and women in all sports around the world at the moment I can't go past Christiano Ronaldo of Man Utd.What he is doing this season is just awesome and a treat to watch. He has moved to a new level that few have reached before. His pace, power ,ball control and finishing are just quite extraordinary. The guy is playing at the highest level and performing to such a high standard week in week out no rest and rotation for him. He's played 39 games, scored 37 goals set up 24 this season alone and there's still 9 games to go. As the chant goes-"He plays on the left ,he plays on the right, that boy Ronaldo makes everyone else look s***e"

Kirk Penney would have to be my pick. He's extremely well spoken, has played overseas & now has come back to help the NZ Breakers to their first NBL top 8 finish since we joined in 2002. He represents NZ, the great game of basketball and himself in a very professional & friendly manner. It's about time our other sports people started to be recognised for the contribution they make to our great country.
