Federated farmers doubts there will be much spillover here from the European beef scare.
Federated Farmers president Alistair Polson said the situation should have little impact here as Europe is not a big beef market for New Zealand.
The government has banned beef products from Europe because of the risk of the human form of mad cow disease entering the country.
The ban is also not expected to cause major problems because only a small volume of European beef products comes into New Zealand.
