A retired Rotorua woman has been charged under the Dog Control Act and will appear in court this week, following a vicious dog attack on a Rotorua boy.
The 59-year-old was the owner of one of two dogs that allegedly attacked 8-year-old Jarrod in a Rotorua park last month.
Her dog, a bull mastiff-cross, has since been destroyed. The other dog, a German shepherd, is still on the loose.
The woman has been charged with being the owner of a dog that caused serious injury to a person.
