Police are tonight hunting armed robbers who held up a bank in suburban Auckland this afternoon.
Police were called to the National Bank on Queens Rd, Panmure, 12km southeast of downtown Auckland, about 3pm, said Inspector Turepu Keenan of police communications.
He said the area was immediately shut down but the offenders, believed to be a man an a woman, were not found.
One report said that a staff member at the bank required medical treatment after being struck over the head with a gun.
Police were tonight still talking to witnesses
No descriptions of the offenders have been released.
