Herald life and style reporter Natalie Akoorie has worked on newspapers and magazines in three countries spanning 18 years. They include the Waitomo News, Rodney Times, and Whakatane Beacon community newspapers. In the UK she was chief reporter on a series of weekly newspapers in West London and sub-edited a national education magazine and for The Guardian newspaper. In Sydney she spent three years as assistant editor at a business travel magazine, visiting far flung destinations in the name of work. A brief stint at Sunday News in Auckland was followed by three years at the Waikato Times in Hamilton where she became deputy chief reporter. Natalie joined the Herald's Waikato office in August 2011 and covers national news with a focus on life and style.
