Lorde had only just left the stage when Taylor Swift got stuck on a raised catwalk when it broke down during her concert in Washington, DC.
The Shake It Off hitmaker uses a runway during her 1989 World Tour show, and it can lift her high above the crowd and rotate while she is strapped in at either end.
During the gig at Nationals Park on Monday, Swift was singing on the elevated platform when it broke and she could not come down, but she continued the show until the set was fixed a few minutes later.
Addressing the crowd, Taylor said: "They just told me in my ear that I might be stuck up here forever. This thing is broken.
"I was just thinking about how I was singing a song about rain and it rained today...it's not that funny...We're just gonna have to re-choreograph the entire show. It's fine. Whatever. It's gonna be a unique show D.C.!"
"... In the meantime, I'm gonna sing a song for you called Clean and I hope you'll sing along."
According to E! News, after the problem was fixed, Swift added: "I'm so happy, you guys! I didn't know what I was going to do!"
Another highlight of the show was when the star brought her singer friend Lorde onstage as a surprise guest.
They performed Lorde's hit debut single Royals.
Swift has been bringing a whole host of her celebrity friends onstage with her during her 1989 tour, including singer Nick Jonas and models Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid.
