Award-winning New Zealand band - and cricket fanatics - The Phoenix Foundation have penned a special tribute to the Black Caps ahead of tomorrow's Cricket World Cup final.
Bic Mac (Run Rate) celebrates Black Caps' captain Brendon McCullum with the lyrics:
Can you hear me coming, blacker than the night, Brendon McCullum ready for a fight.
Some people say he should bat more overs but he's taking the pressure off the middle order.
The catchy chorus repeats the phrase: Keep the run rate up.
The song was written, recorded and mastered in just four hours yesterday, while the band waited for a flight which had been delayed.
The band posted the song to SoundCloud with the message: "A tribute to our national cricketing heroes made in the hours between our cancelled and new flight. Thank you (and %^&$ you) budget airline."
