Tim, Neil and Liam Finn are teaming up for a one-off show at Auckland Zoo next month.
The show will be the first time the three have been on stage together since the Finn Family Christmas gig at the Powerstation in 2013.
"We will comb through the catalogues of Split Enz, Crowded House, Finn Brothers and Liam's solo work to find the right tunes for the occasion - a rare gathering of brothers, uncles, cousins and crocodiles," says Tim Finn,
"It's a rare and wonderful thing to perform on stage with other songwriters you deeply admire and respect even more special when they happen to be closest family." says Neil Finn.
For Neil, the show will be an encore to his 2014 touring for his acclaimed solo album Dizzy Heights.
For Tim, the evening will be a break from his preparations for the Auckland Festival work-in-progress performances of his opera Star Navigator in March. The opera is based on the true story of Tupaia, a Tahitian priest, artist and navigator who sailed with James Cook on the Endeavour.
It be a homecoming gig for New York-based Liam. The show will be his first in New Zealand since the release of 2014 album The Nihilist.
"I have grown up playing Dad and Tim's songs which has always been fun and a big part of what made me the me the musician I am today, he says. "I am especially excited to get to perform and hear my songs with both of their voices and flourishes."
The zoo show will be an all-ages family-oriented affair with the audience invited to bring blankets or deckchairs.
The Finns - plus special guests - will be playing in-the-round at the zoo's vintage band rotunda at around 7pm after the gates open at 5pm.
Tickets for the Friday February 27 show go on sale on January 23.
Fat Freddy's Drop is also playing a one-off Auckland Zoo show on February 14 and Sol3 Mio have a sold-out show there on February 20.
