The audience at last night's Auckland Sol3 Mio concert found themselves drawn into a real-life opera as tenor Pene Pati proposed to his girlfriend, soprano Amina Edris, live on stage.
After serenading her with the beautiful German aria Dein ist mein ganzes Herz, he brought members of both their families on stage to present Edris with red roses before bending to one knee and asking her to marry him.

An overwhelmed Edris, who had charmed the audience with her own performances earlier in the evening, whispered 'yes' as the crowd cheered and waved glow sticks to congratulate the couple.
Not to be upstaged by their brother and cousin's romantic gesture, Sol3 Mio's other members — Amitai Pati and Moses Mackay — reverted to the cheeky hijinks the group is known for by pulling out a serenade of Beauty and the Beast.

The Christmas in the Vines concert at Villa Maria Estate in Mangere was attended by more than 7000 fans who dodged a stormy Saturday for yesterday's stunning summer weather.
Musician Benny Tipene also performed at the event headlined by the chart-topping trio.
Sol3 Mio's eponymous album was the highest-selling album in the country last year and the second-highest this year.
