The first act has been confirmed for next year's Laneway festival. It's Canadian singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco.
The news was reported by Fasterlouder.com, who quoted festival co-founder Danny Rogers as confirming the news.
The Australian-based music news website also rumoured fellow Canadian, R&B pop singer Banks, and UK-based trip-hop performer FKA Twigs, as artists to appear on the bill.

Rumours had spread that this year's event might be its last at Silo Park, but the announcement confirmed the venue would be used for Laneway's fifth New Zealand festival.
The dance, indie and alt-rock festival sees up to 10,000 punters attend on Auckland Anniversary Day each year, with Haim, CHVRCHES, Danny Brown, Daughter, Earl Sweatshirt, Cat Power headlining this years event.
The festival started on the streets of Melbourne in 2005 and has since spread to Auckland, Singapore and the US.
The full line-up won't be revealed until 11am on October 2.
