She's certainly not shy when it comes to telling it how it is.
And while it's been well documented that Courtney Love has had some money issues in the past, the singer has revealed the full extent of her losses.
In an interview with Style magazine, the blonde rock chick admitted she has lost the inordinate sum of US$27 million ($NZ$32m), much of which went on settling various lawsuits.
However instead of sounding too worried, it appeared she had come to terms with her past and was happily moving along with life.
"I lost about $27 million - I know that's a lifetime of money to most people, but I'm a big girl, it's rock 'n' roll, it's Nirvana money, I had to let it go.
"I make enough to live on, I'm financially solvent, I focus on what I make now."
The star, who was married to the late Kurt Cobain before he committed suicide in 1994 at the age of 27, cut a demure figure when she stepped out to celebrate her 50th birthday at a Los Angeles restaurant last month.
The singer, who will play Melbourne's Festival Hall on August 16 and Sydney Enmore Theatre on August 24, added that she is still fighting libel cases which were brought on by her use of prescription drugs.
She said it would make her write things on the likes of Twitter which she would then get sued for.
She has been known to commit the odd fashion faux pas but on this occasion wowed in an elegant form-fitting champagne pink dress.
Despite appearances, the passionate socialite was her uniquely outspoken self in the interview.
She explained how she "hasn't been mad for many, many years" and also how she has found herself becoming broody lately.
Love has one child, Frances Bean Cobain, 21, who she now lives a few doors down from in LA.
