Watch the brand new video from Auckland synth-guitar trio Delete Delete, featuring Lani Purkis (Elemeno P), Kurt Shanks and Chris van de Geer (Stellar*).
An album is planned for winter 2014, and you can buy the single Between The Lines here.
Si Moore the director of Between The Lines shares his thoughts around the video:
"The concept for Between The Lines was originally inspired by Adam Magyar's Stainless series of short films, which are basically black and white films shot from a moving train in super slow-motion showing the relationship between strangers in that one moment that a train arrives on the platform.
"The slow-motion idea seemed like a nice juxtaposition against the energy of the song and dramatising the core action of a bunch of kids having a running race on a strangely busy day at the beach. All of the ideas of the song (from chaos and energy through to a hero emerging and a strong finish) come through in the chaos and clutter.
"We shot three 10-second takes (after wrangling everything from a horse, an older women's marching team, ten kids, three dogs, huge balloons, water throwing, the sunset) and really fantastic stuff unfolded in each take, but we eventually decided on the take where the two boys are racing through the water for the finish and one of them trips and falls. Perfect timing.
"Hopefully the other two fantastic takes will get to surface sometime soon."
