Lock up your daughters. And for that matter, block your ears and close your eyes if you don't like lewd lyrics and seeing girly-looking guys wearing unfeasibly tight trousers, because 80s glam metal revivalists Steel Panther play Auckland's Powerstation on October 2.
Singer Michael Starr, guitarist Satchel, bass player Lexxi Foxx and drummer Stix Zadinia don't just play hair metal music, they uphold the traditions of the hedonistic era, which means their interests are girls, animal prints and girls wearing animal prints.
Which is why you should definitely lock up your daughters.
However, though the Los Angeles group satirise glam metal's worst excesses, these guys are no novelty act. Last year Steel Panther supported their mates Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses; and at recent shows they have been joined on stage by everyone from Paul Stanley (Kiss) and Sebastian Bach (formerly of Skid Row) to pop star Pink and Mr Achy Breaky Heart himself, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Latest album Balls Out, with hard rockin' songs like Supersonic Sex Machine and Just Like Tiger Woods, continues where 2009 debut Feel The Steel, which included Steel Panther anthem Death To All But Metal, left off.
Steel Panther presale tickets go on sale on Tuesday, August 7. See muchmoremusic.co.nz or powerstation.net.nz for details. General tickets on sale Thursday, August 9 from at Ticketmaster and Real Groovy. For more info see steelpantherrocks.com.
Meanwhile, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' first show has sold out and they will play a second show on January 15 at Vector Arena.
Tickets go on sale from Ticketmaster at 9am, Monday, August 6.
And crooner-cum-singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who played a sold-out show at Auckland's ASB Theatre earlier this week, will be returning for two shows in March next year.
He plays Wellington's TSB Arena on March 8 and Vector Arena on March 9. A pre-sale starts on August 6 at frontiertouring.com and general tickets go on sale at Ticketmaster on August 9.
