Australian actor Liam Hemsworth is relishing the chance to use his own accent in new film, The Dressmaker.
The Hunger Games star is Down Under to promote the movie shot in Victoria, Australia and said he was happy to get back to his roots.
"I haven't done a film or TV in my own accent for almost seven years, so it was nice," he told The Project.
"It was strange. I was kind of very surprised at how I approached it differently because I was able to kind of be more free with it and think about my own accent."
Hemsworth plays Kate Winslet's love interest in the film, which premiered in Australia on Sunday and also stars Judy Davis, Hugo Weaving and Sarah Snook.
He said British Winslet did such a great impression of the accent, he kept forgetting she was only in character.
"The Australian accent I feel like is one of the hardest accents to do on the planet. Any time anyone else does it you always know, if you're an Australian."
Hemsworth also said he was sad to be wrapping up the fourth and final Hunger Games film, Mockingjay - Part 2, which comes out in about a month.
He had become very close with co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson.
"It's been such a great journey and I'm so fortunate to have come out of it with two of my best friends in the world, Jennifer and Josh," he said.
"For the last four years or five years we've always had the next one to come back to. All of a sudden we don't. It's bitter-sweet for sure."
The Dressmaker is in cinemas from October 29.
