A movie about a smiling poo and a sexually suggestive eggplant is in the works.
Sony has reportedly signed a seven figure deal to bring a movie about emojis to life.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Sony Pictures Animation beat out two other studios to win the rights to Emoji.
Anthony Leondis, the director of Kung Fu Panda: Series of the Masters and Eric Siegel pitched the idea and are set to co-write the script.
With no underlying rights to purchase, the emoji film might be a great investment for Sony.
Animation is a highly successful medium for Sony, with The Smurfs, Hotel Transylvania and Open Season all being box office successes.
They're hoping the next movie, the animation/live action collaboration Pixels out on Thursday, becomes a box office success and spawns sequels.
