Robin Williams: His greatest moments

To a whole generation Robin Williams is the face of comedy. He made his screen break-through in the TV sitcom Mork and Mindy and went on to star in a run of hit movies in the 1980s and 1990s that capitalised on mad-cap, zany style, from Good Morning Vietnam and Dead Poets Society to Aladdin and Mrs Doubtfire.

But he was as a gifted dramatic performer as he was a comedian. He won an Oscar for Good Will Hunting and brought a chill to the screen playing a serial killer in the Christopher Nolan thriller Insomnia.
