There's another cancer scare in Gisborne, this time involving prostate cancer.
Health Minister Annette King is taking urgent advice on reports laboratory staff at Gisborne Hospital have been using wrong prostate cancer testing equipment for a number of years.
As a result, hundreds of Gisborne men have been given false results, and health officials are now in the process of organising new tests for affected patients.
A spokesman for Mrs King says the Minister has only just heard about about the latest problem.
He says the Minister is trying to find out as much as she can, and will make a statement this afternoon.
