Malaysian media are reporting that a New Zealand man has died after being hit by a motorcycle in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday night (local time).
The 28-year-old was hit by the bike while crossing the busy Jalan Tun Razak road in the nation's capital about 9.45pm, Malaysian national news agency Bernama reported.
He died at the scene due to head injuries.
The agency quoted Kuala Lumpur traffic department investigating officer, DSP S. Markandan, as saying the New Zealander was crossing the road from left to right when he was hit by a motorcycle ridden by a 44-year-old man.
"The impact caused the victim to be flung onto the opposite lanes of the three-lane dual carriageway.
"The motorcycle rider has been admitted to the semi-critical ward at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital," he told Bernama.
The Kiwi man's body was sent to the same hospital.
