Hamilton schoolchildren got a close-up look at the Waikato air ambulance yesterday.
The children from Fairfield and Bankwood Primary Schools were invited to meet pilot Grant Bremner and Shamus Howard and see inside the WestpacTrust-sponsored helicopter after taking part in a colouring contest during the rescue organisation's investment fundraising campaign.
The campaign raised a total of $100,000 for the Hamilton-based aircraft and others in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
The Waikato service received its $25,000 share at yesterday's display.
