Britain's first sex doll brothel has closed its doors within days of opening – after neighbours complained.
The Scotland brothel featured just one staff member, a sex doll called Faith, which was 'pimped out' for £60 ($NZ114) an hour.
Brothel owner Stephen Crawford opened the business at his home in a small village near Hamilton in Scotland. His new venture had prompted a flurry of media coverage – and supposed customer interest – when it was revealed, The Scotsman reported.
He was overwhelmed with interest from up to 40 would-be clients and decided to cancel his online advertising to keep his neighbours happy. However they could not be placated and kicked up a fuss.
Crawford only ended up with two paying customers before closing.
He told the Daily Record: "Unfortunately I have upset a few neighbours, but they'll notice I don't have any visitors and I never really intended to," he told the Daily Record.
Crawford is now considering renting out the sex doll, rather than allowing people to pay for time with it at his home.
"I would still hire out the doll at an agreed meeting point. Whatever they are comfortable with. I have removed my ads and contact details. I will re-upload them when I can be sure it's legitimate inquiries," he said.
"If someone thinks, 'He's sleazy', they're absolutely entitled to think that, but I really don't have any qualms about it."
