When you go on Instagram or Facebook to get fit or weight loss advice you will most likely come across a genetically blessed person doing those extra three crunches a day to get a six pack.

The reality of weight loss and it's adaptability to your everyday person is lost in the current social media world dominated by skinny celebrities and airbrushed fashion bloggers.

You follow celebrities and see them snap themselves at expensive pilates classes or with their personal trainers and chefs and you wonder, why am I not like them?

Each post that is submitted includes a tip for people starting their own journey, the tips vary as do the people sharing their stories. Here are some of the most inspirational stories:

Meet: @ken_nethm
I was obese until I was 18 years old weighing 470lb. I started college and really realized how far I let myself go. I met with a physical trainer in the first semester of college and he made me a meal plan and workout plan. I wanted to be able to play sports with friends and later join the military and knew I had to lose about 240 lb to be able to do so. I stuck with it and 3 years later lost 270lb. I now want to help people better their lives and health. I want to use my account to motivate and speak with people to help them stay disciplined and give information on what I learned over the years whether it's nutrition or working out. Starting tip: The number one tip I would give is set small goals and dates. Read that goal to yourself every day and focus on it. #wlstories

Meet: @jessiegfitness I started my journey to get healthy about 5 years ago at 270lbs. My goal originally was to get into single digit clothing a size 8 pants and a medium shirt. I began to do HIIT circuits at home and was able to lose about 60-70 in a year and maintain it off but I was plateaued out and frustrated. Instead of giving up a reached out to a friend that competed in bodybuilding and was a trainer. The next day I was signed up to learn to weightlift and had my mea...l prep/plan in hand. The best advice I can give someone is write down in a journal goals, inches if you don't like weighing yourself and things you like about yourself. I want to inspire and motivate people to never give up. Starting tip would be always be prepared. Set time aside even schedule a meal prep day as that part is the most important/key with weightloss. #wlstories

Meet @jhovanaespinozaa My journey started on August of 2015. I had reached 275lbs+ and a size 20. Now, I am currently at 196lbs and a size 10. I feel like i have lost half of me, and in exchange gained a life! I have been overweight for most of my life, and had attempted to loose weight numerous of times without success. I was always tired and cranky and wanted to sleep forever. I was depressed and it had taken over my life. That wasn't the life a 21 year old should be living..., but I was addicted exercise. I thought that i would never be able to loose weight. Until i stopped making excuses and i stopped feeling sorry for myself. I started eating out less and cooking more. Having healthier foods and sacrificing a couple hours working out was worth me living a quality life. Since my lifestyle change I have gained so much energy and confidence! I have made my weightloss journey public because i want to help others that feel like i did once. I want to show them that IT IS possible to loose weight! If i can do it so can you! Starting tip: Be your own biggest motivation! Every single day you're faced with life choices, you can choose to better yourself or remain the same. Your future self, will thank you for those small or big sacrifices you make today! #wlstories
