Psychedelic motifs, unusual colour combinations and retro florals make a swirling statement this season as key prints highlight a sense of trippy nostalgia.

From the graphic op art prints of the 60s to the the dainty florals and muddy tones of the 70s, stand-out retro-inspired prints are an easy way to venture into wearing prints, teaming them with your favourite jeans or perhaps a clean-cut skirt or pants for the office.

Revered for her irreverent take on prints, Karen Walker has produced a great starting point with retro-inspired prints with electrifying motifs in her current Magnetic collection.

Alternatively, look to the beautiful devore burnout fabric from up-and-comer Wynn Hamlyn, available in this versatile wrap skirt. Worn with a simple shirt in an earthy 70s palette, it's an easy way to embrace a retro-inspired print while looking polished and thoroughly modern, whatever the occasion.
