Fashion: How to nail 60s chic

By Michiko Hylands

How to nail 60s chic this season.

They say if you can remember it, you weren't there. But the 60s are back, with some fun, retro-inspired pieces that deliver maximum impact. The fab decade that brought us the mini skirt, pop art, space-age design and psychedelia has influenced designers' collections this season.

Think Mary Quant-style mini dresses, button-up plaid coats, Nancy Sinatra-esque boots that "were made for walking", cool "she's-a-mod" capes and head-turning flower-power looks featuring kaleidoscopic patterns.

Hair and makeup has a sexy Brigitte Bardot feel that is complemented perfectly by groovy accessories.

So go on and embrace your inner hippy child.
