In many ways Patrick is the quintessential Australian bloke: he's slightly unsophisticated, he's single, he's just turned thirty, and now he's on Tinder.
But Patrick isn't your regular Tinder user. He's a wombat.
The lonely marsupial is the oldest common wombat in captivity, having just celebrated the big 3-0 at home in the Ballarat Wildlife Park in Victoria.
Patrick's previous attempts at romance have all fallen flat. "The male wombat has to be very aggressive towards the female, and Patrick just isn't a very aggressive wombat," park owner Julia Leonard told ABC News.
So his minders have signed him up to the mobile dating app Tinder.
While the ageing bachelor's handsome profile picture has yet to unearth Miss Right, he can at least turn to his 31,000 Facebook friends for company while he waits.
