Visiting Motley Crue rocker, Nikki Sixx, was knocked back from dining at The French Cafe last night, because he didn't have a booking.
The heavy metal bassist is in town with band this week, playing one show at Vector Arena on Saturday night as part the band's farewell world tour.
Sixx hit social after his failed attempt to eat New Zealand's top fine dining restaurant, appearing to empathise with the call made by Simon Wright's award winning establishment.
Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee had less trouble finding somewhere to eat - he was spotted at central Auckland restaurant Gusto at the Grand.
Twitter user @CurdNerd tweeted the rocker was at the restaurant at 3.15pm today, saying "@SKYCITYAkl Bloody good stuff. & Tommy Lee - Motley Cru was there too. Got me wondering what you've got planned for @BrewersGuildNZ Awards".
Gusto at the Grand, with a menu by renowned chef Sean Connolly, was a first time finalist in the Metro 2015 Top 50 Restaurants in Auckland list the after missing the cut last year.
The French Cafe was named the Supreme runner-up at this year's Metro Restaurant of the Year Awards and has taken out the top prize five times.
The premier Symonds Street space won for best fine dining spot and best service, and Wright was named best chef.
